Play Reading, The

The play opens innocently enough; the scene appears to be a normal play reading by some of an all-women drama group, in the cottage sitting-room of one of the members. But why is the youngest member, who claims to be psychic, so troubled? Why does the hostess act so strangely? Why does the ‘daily woman’, having left for home come rushing back? Humour and tension prevail throughout.
