Life and Times of Young Bob Scallion, The

Bob Scallion is a survivor. From a humble start and an early brush with the law, young Bob sets out on a course of betterment on his way to seeking his fame and fortune. But when faced with life’s many pitfalls and obstacles, one way or another Bob will live to fight another day. This comedy of manners with a Dickensian touch follows Bob as he winds his way through jail cells, church choirs, brothels, porn shops and bookies from the 1970s to the present day. Along the way, he encounters the embodiment of Thatcherism in his dubious business partner Tommy Marchbank, the spirituality of Mr. and Mrs. Fairweather, Molly, the whore who steals Bob’s heart only to break it in two, and many other colorful characters Bob meets on his hapless journey through the slings and arrows of modern life.
