Paul Cookson was brought up near Preston, Lancs, and now lives in Retford, Notts, where he is the official Town Crier. He has worked as a poet for more than three decades, performing in schools, libraries and at literature festivals across the world. He is a National Reading Hero award-winner, a National Poetry Day Ambassador, Poet-in-Residence for the National Football Museum and Everton in the Community, and Writer-in-Residence for Let’s Go Sing – whilst the band Slade have proclaimed him their very own Poet Laureate. He has more than 60 published titles to his name, including the ‘teacher’s Bible’ The Works.
Award-winning writer, designer, illustrator, and performer Dr Martin Chatterton has been working successfully for over 30 years in a variety of media and design fields in the UK, USA, and Australia. He has written 40 books across a wide range of ages and genres, from picture books to crime fiction, and has illustrated countless books for a raft of prestigious writers. In recent years he has concentrated on screenwriting, animation, and screen production. Martin is a founding partner of Hungry Head Productions in the UK and co-producer of the animated children’s series Bluenoses. He lives in Sydney, Australia.
